A retirement ceremony is scheduled to be held at the home opening game of the 2024-2025 season.

Director Jeong Kwan announced on the 26th, “Han Song-i is retiring from active duty.”


Han Song-i, who was selected by the Korea Expressway Corporation as the first overall pick in the 2002 draft, won the Super League Rookie of the Year award in the 2002-2003 season. She worked at Heungkuk Life Insurance and GS Caltex before joining KGC Ginseng Corporation (currently CheongKwanJang) for the 2017-2018 season. After changing his position to middle blocker (fast breakman), he was selected as one of the best 7 for two consecutive seasons in 2019-2020 and 2020-2021, entering his new prime.


In the V-League, which was launched in 2005, she was the only female player to boast consistency by playing all 20 seasons from her first year as a professional to the 2023-2024 season.

Now she takes off her uniform and begins her second life.


Han Song-i said, “It was like a dream. She was happy with the undeserved love she received from Jeonggwanjang over the past seven years. She was able to enjoy her career as an athlete thanks to her loving family and fans who always supported her. “I will greet you again in good form,” she said of her retirement.
